Haven't Posted For A While
It's been a while since I've posted, so here we go! Zachary is doing great! He is the happiest little boy that I have ever known! School is great....he loves it! Speech Therapy is going well! We got accepted to Shriner's Hospital, which is an amazing blessing! He is growing fast....all of his pants are already too short for him. Our life is wonderful......we are very lucky to be Zachary's parents!!!!

Zachary Started Day Care
Zachary LOVES day care, which is a huge relief! There are a few tears when I leave, but he apparently recovers quickly. The teachers love him and he has a blast playing with all the kids!
He has adjusted really well! He eats his breakfast, participates in all the activities, plays with the other kids, takes his nap, eats his lunch and goes potty in the cute little toilets. When I get there to pick him up, he yells "Mama!" and gives me the thumbs up! Then he goes and gets his coat, waves good bye to everyone....and then we are out the door!

Doctors...Doctors...Doctors...
Zachary has been to his pediatrician twice so far. His doctor and the nurses are WONDERFUL! So far, he has had 9 shots (vaccinations, the flu shot and the H1N1 shot). I have taken him to get his blood drawn twice. The first time, they took 5 vials of blood for the little guy. The second time, they took only one. What a trooper! He still giggles, waves and blows kisses as we leave!
Today, I took him to the ENT. He was so good! The doctor was able to check his ears, his nose and his throat without any screaming at all! Zachary just sat like a champ!
He had his first hearing test! It was hard to get him to do what he needed to do though....too busy flirting with the Audiologist! This is what I know about his ears. His hearing appears to be normal. His ears look healthy and there is no fluid on his eardrums. One ear needed to be cleaned out though, which he was NOT happy about!
Here is what I know about his nose and throat. His nasal passages are narrow, but they should not pose any problems. His throat looked healthy and his tonsils were a normal size. The doctor thought his palate looked good, but couldn't tell if there was a small hole in the front. He didn't see one, but wasn't sure.
All in all, it was great news! I have to take him to a plastic surgeon so he or she can take a look at his palate. Then, all we have are his booster shots, an evaluation by the Early Intervention Team and a trip to the Endocrinologist and that should be it for 2009! I hope....
